William Baldridge is a senior financial sector advisor in USAID's Bureau for Economic Growth and Agriculture. He has an insider's view of financial systems, having worked a U.S. Treasury bond trader and member of the Chicago Board of Trade from 1987 to 1995. He then served USAID/Central Asia for two years as financial sector advisor. Next he served for three years in USAID/Washingtonís headquarters as a financial sector advisor. Then in 2001 he transferred from USAID to the U.S. Department of the Treasury and served as a regional government debt advisor for the eight UEMOA nations, based in Senegal. Following this tour he served as Treasuryís Financial Attache in Afghanistan then returned to Washington and served in the International Affairs division of Treasury as Deputy Director for the Middle East office. In 2007 Mr. Baldridge re-joined USAID as a senior financial sector advisor, based in Washington.
