Don Sillers is a civil service economist with the EGAT Office of Economic Growth. Don received his Ph.D. in economics from Yale University, and joined USAID in 1986. Before coming to EGAT, he served in the Bureaus for Asia and the Near East (ANE) and for Policy and Program Coordination (PPC). Don is the principal author of USAID's policy papers on microenterprise and on basic education, and served on the core team of the 2008 Economic Growth Strategy. He is currently COTR for the Poverty Assessment Tools project, which develops low-cost methods for estimating the share of a sample of households that are living in poverty.
