Economic Growth Overview

PLEASE NOTE THAT THE RESOURCES BELOW DO NOT REPRESENT THE CURRENT EG OVERVIEW COURSE. IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO ACCESS THE EG OVERVIEW COURSE ACTIVITES, PLEASE REGISTER AT USAID UNIVERSITY.

The EG Overview Course organized by USAID’s Bureau of Economic Growth, Agriculture, and Trade (EGAT), provides an intensive week-long curriculum covering all major areas of economic growth development assistance. The course consists of four core technical themes or modules, proceeding in order from the broad policy environment to the level of the firm. The table below provides the key resources from past EG Overview courses. There is a quiz associated with each of the 4 modules. Note: Each quiz will open in a new window. Your score will not be tracked but you will be able to assess your understanding of each of the modules.

These resources seek to balance both technical concepts (“theory”) and practical application: strategy and program design, review of lessons learned, outcomes targeting, guidelines for measuring and monitoring impact, and assistance implementation tools. We cover not just the “What?” but also the “When?”, “How?”, and “With Whom?”.

Please note that the Macroeconomic 101 module takes approximately 3 hours to complete and includes a quiz to assess your understanding of the different principles.
